Warehouse & Industrial Painting

Painting Industrial Sites Across Melbourne’s East

A warehouse is a working building. Racking is loaded, forklifts are moving, and trucks are booked in for the day. Painting it is less about the paint and more about how the work fits around all of that.

We are ABM Painting & Maintenance, based in Croydon. For 27 years we have painted across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, and warehouse and industrial painting in Melbourne is part of what we take on. Our patch runs through the industrial pockets of Bayswater, Kilsyth, Croydon South and Ringwood, so we are close by and easy to get on site.

Industrial surfaces are not house surfaces. Tilt-slab walls, colorbond cladding, structural steel and concrete floors all need different prep and different coatings. Get the prep wrong and the coating lifts within a season, especially on a west-facing wall taking full summer UV or a floor that gets hosed down every week.

Babak is on site from the first walk-through to the final coat. You talk to the owner, not a salesperson who hands the job to a crew you have never met. We are trade-qualified, carry $10 million public liability cover, and quote in writing so the number you sign off is the number you pay.

If your site needs a repaint but cannot stop for one, that is the problem we plan around.

Why Warehouse Repaints Go Wrong

How We Work

A Repaint That Fits Around Your Operation

Every industrial job starts with a walk of the site, not a price guess. We look at the surfaces you have, the traffic they take, and the hours your floor is actually free. Then we build the job around that.

Tell us how your site runs and we will build the paint job around it, not the other way around.

What's Involved

What Warehouse & Industrial Painting Covers

Industrial buildings are a mix of surfaces, and each one behaves differently. A single site can have concrete panel walls, metal cladding, exposed steel, roller doors and a floor taking constant load. We scope each one on its own terms.

What we take on

How it works

1

Site walk

We come out, look at the surfaces, note the traffic and access, and talk through your operating hours.

2

Written quote

Scope, surfaces, products and coats, all set out so the number does not move later.

3

Program agreed

We lock in zones, shutdown windows or after-hours access before anyone picks up a brush.

4

Protection and prep

Racking, plant and stock covered. Surfaces washed, degreased, sanded, ground back or spot-primed as the substrate needs.

5

Coating

Spray or roll, primer and topcoats matched to the surface and the wear it takes.

6

Walk-through and clean-up

We go through the site with you, sign off the work, and leave the aisles clear.

Local considerations. The industrial estates through Bayswater, Kilsyth and Croydon South are full of older tilt-slab and metal-clad sheds. Melbourne’s summer UV punishes north and west-facing walls, and the cool damp winter finds every gap in the prep. We plan exterior work with the season in mind. If your building is part of a multi-tenant industrial estate with shared walls and common areas, the same coordinated approach we use for strata and body corporate painting applies to your site.

Why ABM

Why Melbourne Businesses Call Us

We are not a big contractor running a call centre. You get a local trade business with the owner on the tools.

👤

27 years painting Melbourne’s east

Since 2000 we have worked on homes and buildings across Croydon, Ringwood, Bayswater and out to Lilydale. We can read how local surfaces age and what holds up here.

🛡

Babak is on site, start to finish

The owner quotes the job, preps it and paints it. No handover to a crew you have never met, and no salesperson between you and the work.

📍

Trade-qualified and insured

Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, plus $10 million public liability cover that can be lifted for larger projects. Certificates of currency on request.

🔨

Painting and maintenance in one call

Loose flashing, a damaged door frame, a patch of render that needs making good. We handle the small fix-ups around the repaint rather than sending you off to another trade.

Tidy sites, honest quotes

Plant and stock covered, floors protected, gear packed down at the end of each day. The written quote is what you pay.

Local And Accountable

A Croydon Trade Business, Not a Faceless Contractor

We are based at Croydon, in the middle of the eastern suburbs industrial belt. That means short travel, quick site visits, and a painter who can come back if something needs attention after the job is done.

Twenty-seven years in the trade across Melbourne’s east is what sits behind this work. Careful prep, correct primers, and coatings chosen for the surface rather than the price list. Those are the same fundamentals whether the surface is a weatherboard eave or a tilt-slab wall taking forklift knocks.

Babak holds a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, a nationally recognised trade qualification. The business carries $10 million public liability cover, and we can provide a certificate of currency for your site induction or facility manager before we start.

We also work around operating sites regularly. Childcare centres, schools and hospitals cannot close, so we have painted them after hours, over weekends, in staged zones, and through long weekends and holiday shutdowns. That scheduling discipline carries straight into a warehouse that needs to keep dispatching.

You will get a written scope, a clear program, and one point of contact. If something is not right, you call the owner and it gets fixed.

Common Questions

Warehouse & Industrial Painting FAQs

Can you paint while we keep operating?

Yes, in most cases. We stage the work in zones and can paint after hours, over weekends or during a shutdown so your floor keeps moving. We set the program with you before we start.

Tilt-slab and blockwork walls, colorbond and metal cladding, structural steel, mezzanines, handrails, roller doors, bollards and concrete floors. Each surface gets prep and a coating suited to the wear it takes.

Floor coatings need to cure, not just dry, and forklift traffic needs a full cure. Cure time depends on the product, the temperature and the humidity, so we give you the product’s cure schedule when we quote and plan the shutdown around it.

Almost always the prep. Dust, grease and old failing coatings stop new paint bonding, so it lifts under knocks and washdowns. We wash, degrease, sand or grind back, and prime before any topcoat goes on.

Yes. We carry $10 million public liability cover and can lift it for larger projects. Certificates of currency and our trade qualification are available before we come on site.

The paint is the easy part. The hard part is getting it done without stopping the trucks, blowing the budget, or watching it flake off a year later. We plan the job around how your site actually runs, put the whole scope in writing, and Babak stays on the tools from prep to final coat.

1

Tell us about the site. Building, surfaces, rough size, and the hours you can free up.

2

We come out and quote. A proper walk-through, then a written quote with the scope, products and coats set out.

3

We paint around your schedule. Zones, after hours, weekends or a shutdown, then a walk-through with you at the end.
